CGNK is a volunteer based non-profit organization. Through fundraising and outreach we focus on improving the lives of children and families in the Northern Kentucky area. Each year we host one event as the primary fundraiser for our organization. The funds generated support the CGNK Shoe Fund, the CGNK Quarterly Donation Program, and a local charity that we have selected for that year.

  • Shoe Fund: The Charities Guild Shoe Fund has provided shoes to underprivileged children for over 25 years. We partner with area schools, churches and social service agencies to identify those in need, then distribute a $25 voucher for a new pair of shoes at a national discount retail store.
Providing this basic need has enormous benefits. When children arrive at school with shoes in good condition, school officials report that they are able to focus more effectively on learning.
  • Charities Committee: The Charities Committee organizes donation opportunities for the group. Charities Guild members often work behind the scenes to raise money for local charities, but they also enjoy opportunities for hands on involvement. During 2008-2009 CGNK donated and served meals at The ECHO Soup Kitchen, collected school supplies for area schools, and sponsored families through the Brighton Center at Christmastime. Members helped with the Excellent Home Makeover project for Shoulder to Shoulder, Inc. and collected supplies for Crayons to Computers. Additionally, the Charities Committee donates each quarter to a local charity.

StarShine is there to meet the medical, spiritual and emotional needs of children and everyone who cares for them.
  • Fundraising Committee: The Fundraising Committee supervises a CGNK fundraising activity (Tour of Homes) after the fundraising proposal has been adopted by a majority vote of the membership. Once a year, the members of CGNK consider a few local charities that have been nominated and represented by a CGNK member. The charity that obtains the most votes from the members will benefit financially from the upcoming fundraising activity.
  • Social Committee: The Social Committee coordinates social events for the CGNK members, which in turn, may generate some funding for the other CGNK committees.
